Colorado National Monument

We finally made it out to the Colorado National Monument. It's about a 20 minute drive from our house and with the great weather we're having decided we decided to advantage. We stopped by the Visitor's Center and checked out the little museum inside. William was fascinated with the eagle display.

We went on a small hike, like 1.5 miles, and Ally almost made it the whole way. Colby just had to show the kids how to be dangerous and climb up things they shouldn't and Ally wanting to be just like Dad, of course, tries to climb the rock. William was so cute watching and then cried and pointed until Colby carried him up the rock as well.

The park has little signs along the way and Ally took it upon herself to become the guide and read each sign to us. She was so animated and telling us to run from pumas and snakes! Everything went well until Ally tripped over a rock and skinned her hands. That's when we had to carry her back to the car and it was over. She told me she doesn't want to go back for a long time. William, Ally and I took a nap on the way home. A great day.

Looks like fun. I love Ally's necklace...got to look presentable even while hiking in the wilderness.
