December fun

We had an eventful December. William had his first birthday on the 17th. Sadly, while I am in school, he is the finals baby. I had him last year on the day of my last final and this year was no different. But he still got his cake and ate it too. It was really funny.

We got some snow and Ally's really been enjoying it. William didn't have clothes but I finally bundled him in a girls coat (despite Colby's disapproval) and took him out. He loved it of course. Surprisingly, Ally jumps right it and gets wet. She likes to lay out in the snow and talk to herself.

We got a special treat this year. Our new friends, Mike and Beth, took us on a limo ride to see all the lights in town. Ally loved it. The picture of the right is of Mandy (Beth's daughter), her baby Erik, Gramma Beth and Ally (deer in the headlights).

After the ride Ally got to make a gingerbread house and that cute gumdrop tree in the background. Thanks to Mike, the house was a masterpiece. We had a peaceful Christmas and New Year and are excited about the changes 2010 will bring. Happy New Year everyone!

William now enjoys feeding himself. Sigh.

Good thing he is so cute.

Colorado National Monument

We finally made it out to the Colorado National Monument. It's about a 20 minute drive from our house and with the great weather we're having decided we decided to advantage. We stopped by the Visitor's Center and checked out the little museum inside. William was fascinated with the eagle display.

We went on a small hike, like 1.5 miles, and Ally almost made it the whole way. Colby just had to show the kids how to be dangerous and climb up things they shouldn't and Ally wanting to be just like Dad, of course, tries to climb the rock. William was so cute watching and then cried and pointed until Colby carried him up the rock as well.

The park has little signs along the way and Ally took it upon herself to become the guide and read each sign to us. She was so animated and telling us to run from pumas and snakes! Everything went well until Ally tripped over a rock and skinned her hands. That's when we had to carry her back to the car and it was over. She told me she doesn't want to go back for a long time. William, Ally and I took a nap on the way home. A great day.

It has begun...

If you're wondering why I am not blogging, here's your answer. Please note the delighted smile on William's face.

William is 4 months

Our sweet baby is 4 months old. He is growing so quickly and I wish he would slow down. According to the doctor, he has grown 3 3/4 inches in the last 6 weeks. Ouch!

He is one happy kid. He is super mellow and doesn't complain much, just like his dad. He adores Ally and watches her every move. We all love baby Will!

Our little princess

This morning Ally insisted on having "Cinderella hair." I did it three times before she approved. Ever since Ally could talk she has loved pink and princess. Being a tomboy myself I find this very foreign and most of the time don't like it. Still, she has movies, clothes and dolls of all the popular Disney Princesses. Oh well, maybe someday she can teach me how to do my hair!

Big sister

Ally is starting to become a big help with William. She is learning to use her "inside voice" and gives him his binki when he is crying. Speaking of binkis, Ally is officially done with her binkis and I couldn't be happier!

William turns 6 weeks

William wakes up very happy in the morning and is starting to smile. I tried to get a picture but this was all I got.

Footprints at six weeks. He was not happy to get this done.
